Happy Girl, Happy Birthday

Here's an scheduled commission I had stored for a while, commissioned by as a Birthday Gift for Casey, , because guess who's birthday it is o3O

As an addition here's something theheroofdarkness wrote for Casey:

"For my good friend who I’ve known since the glorious days of the 1st TG-War. A comrade turned briefly opponent (in an RP-ish way that is ) and somewhat ally later, again, (if more in regards towards my highest ranked subordinate and commander at the time) back in those days, she’s then moved on after the end of the same one to become one of my closest friends I ever had the honor to name such – no matter if somewhat virtual now or not (though I at least intent to change that someday – as for all I consider my friends - let that promise be known to the world! ).

In spite of aspiring ambitions following afromentioned War, for Casey, the fights of very same one may have come to end the same way as for Drago, me and lots of others around that time. But for her, the struggles would just begin, if less so in the virtual, but more intensely in the real world. Two strong losses partially following a long struggle here, a great series of fights in her innermost sanctum there, all culminating in her undergoing a meaningful journey in order to find herself and start over, again anew.

That very path she’d decide to take indeed has not been an easy one, with no support from those that are supposed to be her closest – a real shame on a personal stance, following similiar lines of thinking and upbringings, but I digress – and the struggles may still be far from over, no matter if brought on by same ones or society ignor- or arrogantly backing them up (an issue that, too, has started to greatly bother me recently, but I digress, again ).

But in the end, be it for the greater good or for the sake of one’s own well-being and/or happiness, sometimes decisions must be made and paths taken stiring away from the common and/or comfortable, even, or especially, in the lights of those that strive to control us and think we’re ought to please them and/or gain their approval, even if that shouldn’t be the case as it is to us that are supposed to take our stance, make our own decisions and find our place in the world once at the right age and the right time (or latestely thereof, depending on one’s view here).

Another friend I’ve had the honor to get to know recently – if in a similiar, at first more professional way like I did with my other friends such as and (aka working out on different projects and the like behind the scenes) – would additionally proclaim on topics applieable in many ways such as this one how „[c]hange is a constant state of all things, an immutable force of nature.“, how our „problem lies in [our] ability to seek and find happiness within [ourselves], independent of changing circumstances“ and that „[i]f we become the masters of our own joy, then we will thrive as we are, but we will thrive even more in a form that is better suited to us.“ and „[i]f we do not master our own joy first, then no form and no change will be sufficient for long.“

Casey ultimately decided to go down that path to such high a cost, taking on many sacrifices and anguish along the way. But in the end, even if the struggles may be far from over, she regardlessly is happy now and that’s all that counts in the end – or at least is supposed to.

For me, she’ll always be the way I see her (and should be seen): A strong, independent woman and a great friend – one that has been there for me in my darkest of times the same way I did for hers – or, at least tried, for I still remain in doubt of myself at times whenever I’m such a good friend I proclaim to be to those I care about or not.

But even if I may still have to overcome own struggles and appear distant in many a guise because of, you’ll always have my support and loyality 'til the day I die, never to wave, no matter what happens, always ready to defend your honor, my lady (ok a bit much now, admittably, but for the sake of the special day, we’ll let it slide for once, will ye? ) – and of course to all my other friends around here or in general.
